FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas senior Sanu Jallow-Lockhart was named the Division I women’s national athlete of the week Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Jallow-Lockhart ran 600 meters in a collegiate-record 1 minute, 24.19 seconds during the Arkansas Invitational on Friday at Randal Tyson Track Center. The previous record of 1:25.16 was set by former Razorback Britton Wilson in 2023.
The record-breaking time in the 600 came almost one year to the day that Jallow-Lockhart fell just short of breaking Wilson’s record when she ran 1:25.37 at the 2025 Arkansas Invitational. The 600 is not contested at the conference or national meets, but is run early in the season to help athletes train for longer events.
