Arkansas basketball game vs. Michigan State posts big numbers for FOX

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas' 69-66 loss at Michigan State last Saturday was the most-watched game during the first week of the college basketball season.

FOX averaged more than 1.67 million viewers for the primetime telecast. It was the network’s most-watched regular-season broadcast since a Connecticut-Gonzaga game last December averaged more than 1.71 million.

Arkansas-Michigan State went went head-to-head with college football on other over-the-air networks. The Alabama-LSU football game on ABC averaged 7.5 million viewers and the Notre Dame-Navy game on NBC averaged 3.18 million in primetime.

Five other non-primetime college football games outdrew the Razorbacks’ basketball game last Saturday — Indiana-Penn State on FOX (6.
