UA's Gabe York chases NBA, works out for Suns

Gabe York has been in this place as the successful player looking to prove himself all over again.

When he arrived in Tucson in 2012, York sat for more games (20) than he played as a freshman (15) before he became a key specialty shooter for two seasons and UA’s second-leading scorer as a senior. York had four seasons of well-earned McKale Center popularity for experiencing one loss there but the NBA resets York's career.

York's career accomplishments have been reduced to a resume among many in a stack of college success stories. York, 22, is not on the NBA draft radar but he is at least getting the chance with pre-draft team workouts, such as his Monday visit to Phoenix, to convince NBA executives that he is more than a shooter, capable of playing point guard and full of athleticism that they might not realize.
