The game was tight heading into the 5th inning, with Auburn up 2-1. Errors by the Wildcats contributed to the Auburn lead, reflecting once again redshirt junior Danielle O’Toole‘s mastery in the circle. She clamped down on Auburn’s NCAA-leading offense of 8.31 runs/game entering the weekend.
Mo Mercado made up for her error by batting in three runs. Junior center fielder Eva Watson went 2-2 and scored three runs. Arizona’s speed, led by Watson, kept the Auburn defense on the ropes. She also made two huge defensive moves, including an exciting diving catch which should land her on Sports Center Top 10.
