FLAGSTAFF, Arizona - Sun Devil Track and Field opened the 2023 indoor season Friday with strong performances at Northern Arizona's Axe 'Em Open meet in Flagstaff, Arizona. Fourteen Sun Devils finished top-3, with seven winning their events. Notable finishes included sprinting standout Justin Robinson winning the 300m, freshman Tyler Schierenberg taking the men's 800m, sophomore Kylie Miller winning the women's 800m, and Austin Cox's personal record victory in the pole vault. Turner Washington won the shot put with an 11-foot lead and put himself fourth in the country heading into Saturday.
