No. 14 Arizona State softball built a lead early on and held on to beat No.8 University of Arizona, 4-3, in Tempe.
ASU continued their streak of adding a run in every inning in the fourth with solo home run from Bella Loomis. The Wildcats responded in the sixth through a sacrifice fly and threatened in the final inning with the bases loaded, but ASU reliever Lindsay Lopez struck out the final batter to end the game.
The loss broke the Wildcats' 12-game win streak.
The Sun Devils started quick with a solo homerun from Jazmine Hill in the first inning.
