The Arizona State Sun Devils suffered their third straight loss, losing to visiting USC 31-26 Saturday at Sun Devils Stadium.

The Sun Devils (5-4, 2-4) fell into some familiar patterns, getting behind early and hurting their cause with some ill-timed penalties.

True freshman Joey Yellen got the start in place of injured quarterback Jayden Daniels. Despite trailing 28-7 after a quarter, the Sun Devils battled back and had the ball in the closing minutes with the chance to win the game.
