Joey Yellen and Ethan Long headline a new era of football at Arizona State.
They are the first two players to publicly commit to new ASU coach Herm Edwards. They also will share a commonality when they reach campus: They both play quarterback.
The two were aware of the ASU's plans to pursue multiple quarterbacks in this recruiting cycle. The sight of added competition didn’t threaten either from committing.
“I did know because obviously, he went public about five to six days before I committed,” Yellen said of Long's June 4 announcement. “They (ASU) told me from the first point they offered me a scholarship back in May that they would be offering two quarterbacks.
