ASU football camp opening coincides with start of rapid results COVID testing

Arizona State's first full football practice Friday coincided with the start of daily testing for COVID-19 under a rapid results program being used by all Pac-12 schools through an agreement with the Quidel Corporation.

Coach Herm Edwards said the testing began at 6:15 a.m. and continued in groups of 20 players through 7:30 a.m. The same process will be repeated Saturday and every subsequent practice and game day through the abbreviated season.

"We got our results before we went to the practice field," Edwards said. "Everybody was clean. We're going to do that every day all the way up to game day.
