Senior safety Evan Fields indicated on social media that he plans to return. That comes on the heels of a similar announcement by senior corner Jack Jones earlier in the week.
Fields, a 6-foot-1, 195-pounder, was perhaps the team's top defender the past season, finishing with a team-high 38 tackles, three forced fumbles and a breakup in only four games. He hit double digits in tackles twice with 17 in the season-opening loss to USC and 10 in the finale at Oregon State.
