It was a tale of two pitching strategies on Sunday. The Cincinnati Reds continued to go with the opener strategy, relying on Robert Stephenson to get the ball to pseudo-starter, Lucas Sims. Sims was later followed by three more pitchers from the bullpen. On the other side of things, MadBum cam within an out of pitching a complete game, being pulled only after losing the tie in the top of the ninth. Kevin Ginkel then allowed an inherited runner to score befor recording the final out.
Once again, the “blame” for this loss fall primarily on the Arizona offense.
