Kole Calhoun aiming for quick return to Diamondbacks following knee surgery

As far as Diamondbacks right fielder Kole Calhoun could tell, his right knee probably was just bruised. He wasn’t running any slower than in the past. His vertical jump was actually better. And he found that once he started moving around, the knee would loosen up.

“I never really thought much of it,” Calhoun said.

But once spring training began and the knee failed to respond to treatment, Calhoun had it examined. He was not pleased when he found out what was wrong. He had a torn meniscus and would require surgery, a procedure that would sideline him for four to six weeks.
