Ketel Marte was out of the lineup on Wednesday afternoon, but manager Torey Lovullo believes the hamstring issue that forced his center fielder from Tuesday night’s game is minor in nature.
“No pain, just a little bit of tightness with limited discomfort,” Lovullo said when asked how Marte was feeling on Wednesday morning. “We’re super encouraged by that.”
The Diamondbacks had reason to be worried. Not only did Marte appear to be in pain as he hobbled to second base after a double into the gap in the first inning, but he also has a recent history of hamstring issues.
