It wasn’t a question of if Patrick Corbin was going to win National League Pitcher of the Week, but also if he’d get Player of the Week as well. On Tuesday, Corbin tossed a 1-hit shutout of the San Francisco Giants. He fell 4 outs shy of a no-hitter when Brandon Belt hit a check-swing ground ball to 3rd base against a shifted defense. He followed up that start with 6 innings of 2-run ball against the Padres where a dropped 3rd strike with 2 outs preceded a long opposite field shot.
