Avila, D-backs bring thunder in rainy Philly

PHILADELPHIA -- Alex Avila, Jarrod Dyson and Daniel Descalso each homered as the D-backs beat the Phillies, 8-4, on a soggy Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

Avila and Dyson got the D-backs going with back-to-back homers to open the third.

Arizona starter Robbie Ray struggled to keep the Phillies in check as Philadelphia scored three in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead.

David Peralta drove home a pair of runs in the fifth as the D-backs reclaimed the lead, and Descalso added a two-run homer in the eighth to give them a cushion.
