Right fielder Kole Calhoun arrived to his first media session of the spring and promptly solved one of the big mysteries of Diamondbacks camp.
Teammate Eduardo Escobar has been heard yelling the word “lobster” in Calhoun’s direction during workouts. When asked about it on Wednesday, Escobar laughed but declined to explain, passing it off as something he couldn’t do justice given his limitations speaking English.
“When you guys see Calhoun, ask him why,” he said.
And so reporters did just that on Thursday afternoon.
“During the season last year, he would always say, ‘Early and often, early and often, early and often,’” Calhoun said.
