Arizona Diamondbacks 2, Pittsburgh Pirates 1

Patrick Corbin has struggled in most of his starts lately, but it seems that getting out of Chase was the best thing imaginable, as he had one of his best starts of the season. He went seven innings, holding the Pirates to three hits (all singles) with no walks and 12 strikeouts. However, Ivan Nova also held the Diamondbacks to three hits, and he went eight innings, as pitching dominated the second game of this series.

Even after the starters left, neither team could score through ten innings. In the 11th, it took the catcher throwing the ball away on a roller by Ketel Marte in front of the plate for the D-backs to take the lead.
