The SEC announced today that it will be cancelling all spring sporting events this season as well as all spring football across the conference.
This news comes on the back of the coronavirus pandemic which has caused nearly every major sports league to shut down or postpone their seasons indefinitely.
ALERT-The @SEC has announced all regular season conference and non-conference competitions are cancelled for remainder of the 2019-20 athletic year, including all Spring FB Games and remaining SEC championship events, due to continuing developments related to the coronavirus.
This is a difficult day for all of us, and I am especially disappointed for out student-athletes,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey in his statement.
