PODCAST: Pete Golding faces a critical third season at Alabama

No one was happy with Alabama’s defense last season.

Even though injuries were involved, Nick Saban referred to it as not being the Crimson Tide’s standard. It allowed 18.6 points per game – including 94 points versus LSU and Auburn combined.

Both schools defeated the Tide and kept it from making the College Football Playoff.

Pete Golding served as defensive coordinator in 2019.

The 36-year-old had a difficult situation to manage; however, this season is very important for him. He is now in his third year with the Tide – second as a play caller – and the roster returns much talent and experience.
