There was a clear concern about Alabama's kicking game as the 2017 season dawned. Consistency has been fleeting in recent years and a replacement for Adam Griffith was needed.

Scrimmages were an adventure, as was the A-Day game. Through three games, however, the situation has stabilized with a little help from a famous alum. Andy Pappanastos is 7-for-9 as the primary placekicker who hasn't missed since the much-hyped season opener with Florida State.

There wasn't much time to settle in with a 42-yard kick needed on the game's first drive. It missed on a night Pappanastos finished 3-for-5.
