Failed expectations and frustration led to Antonio Alfano leaving Alabama

The top-rated prospect – via most recruting sites – from Alabama’s 2019 recruiting class officially became the latest name in the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday.

For a school that is use to attracting five-star talents, the University of Alabama has lost two marquee players in back-to-back classes. After seeing the enigma that is Eyabi Anoma leave the program before the season started, Antonio Alfano has also exited and looking for a new place.

A native of Colonial, N.J., Alfano was regarded as the No. 1 prospect overall and No. 1 at his position (defensive line) by almost every recruiting network.
