Amari Cooper remains a Cowboy, signs a five-year contract

After franchise-tagging Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys were able to aggressively keep someone who did not want to leave the organization. One day before the new year of the National Football League, the team signed Amari Cooper to a five-year deal at receiver.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Cooper’s contract is worth $100 million with $60 million guaranteed.

The former Alabama standout and 2014 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner gets to remain with “America’s Team” and continue the development of Prescott as a quarterback.

Cooper is coming off a career season that consisted of 1,189 yards receiving with eight touchdowns on 79 catches.
