Ty Simpson took a couple of massive hits in the Iron Bowl from the Auburn defense, and a few of the hits resulted in penalties.
The hit that went viral on social media platforms was the one where Simpson was running to his left down the Alabama sideline, and Auburn defensive back Sylvester Smith delivered a heck of a hit to Simpson’s head in the red zone.
On an earlier drive, Simpson also took a shot to the head from Auburn’s Jahquez Robinson that resulted in a roughing the passer penalty, but the referees upgraded it to a targeting penalty and ejected Robinson.
