Numerous changes are coming to Xavier University's Cintas Center for 2017-18, but one new addition in particular – a kind of revival of the old Norwood Cafe – should rekindle memories and pull at the heartstrings of Xavier alums of a certain age.
A new gathering space called "The Woods" – that's the more-common, shorthand name for the now-demolished Norwood Cafe – will be located at the top of section 215. Nostalgia seems likely to abound for Xavier alums that patronized the bar, which sat at the corner of Dana and Cleneay avenues before its 2008 demolition to make way University Station.
