WACO, Texas — Xavier men’s basketball’s loss to the Baylor University Bears was, as the sporting cliché goes, a tale of two halves. Somewhere in between the extremes of the halves is the truth about the Musketeers.
The opening 20 minutes showed the full promise and upside of Team 95, which looked every bit of its No. 7 ranking – a perch they'll fall from following their 76-61 loss at Baylor (8-0) Saturday.
Later in the second half, Xavier (7-1) was rudderless, completely unmoored from the execution that saw it take a lead into halftime and remain very much in the game until about six minutes remained in regulation.
