CINCINNATI - Junior Rylan Bannon capped off a tremendous weekend, earning BIG EAST Player of the Week honors on Monday after hitting .526 (10-for-19) for Xavier baseball.
During a 4-1 week, Bannon led the Musketeers with 10 hits, three homers, 19 total bases and nine RBI. He also homered in three of five games, increasing his season total to a team and BIG EAST-leading 12.
In an impressive single game performance, the Joliet, Illl. native celebrated his 21st birthday by going 6-for-6 in a 17-12 win over Butler on Saturday. Bannon scored twice and knocked in three with a homer during the game, recording the most hits by an XU player since at least 2004.
