University of Wyoming redshirt senior Scott Carter won the triple jump and placed second in the 60-meter hurdles to lead a strong showing by the Cowboys at the Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colorado, on Saturday.
Carter went 51 feet, 1 inch to take top honors in the triple jump.
Also Saturday, sophomore Martin Fitzwater (Lusk) took third in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 52-10.25.
In the 60-meter dash, Sam Kirkeide finished second for the Cowboys while Melina Harris (Cheyenne Central) placed second for the Cowgirls. Former Kelly Walsh standout Mikalah Skates was third in the 60 hurdles.
