The University of Wyoming women's soccer team was picked fifth in the Mountain West preseason coaches' poll Wednesday.

The Cowgirls received 70 points to finish behind defending conference champion San Diego State (110 points), San Jose State (108), UNLV (101) and Utah State (97).

Wyoming, which finished 10-8-2 overall and 6-4-1 in MW play, returns senior tri-captains goalkeeper Georgia Rowntree, forward Alisha Bass and defender Claire Parker, along with a number of players who saw quality minutes last season.

That includes sophomore forward Michaela Stark, who had a team-high six goals last season and was named to the MW All-Newcomer team.
