On Sept. 12, 2016, Greg Gard reeled in a big fish. Coveted in-state scorer Tyler Herro committed on that day to headline the 2018 class and add juice to Gard’s growing reputation as a bona fide recruiting force as a head coach.
Herro suffered a knee injury as a high school junior, but has recovered to play well on recent AAU and camp circuits. He has enhanced his profile into that of a top-50 talent among his peers, bringing some good PR to the Wisconsin Badgers program along the way.
Looking beyond transfers and walk-ons, Herro has been UW’s most recent verbal commit over the last months and counting.
