Badgers women's swimming: Wisconsin surges into second place at Big Tens' midpoint

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Dynamic efforts in the freestyle races gave the University of Wisconsin women’s swimming and diving team a lift Thursday on the second day of the Big Ten Championships.

The Badgers climbed to second place in the team standings as the four-day meet hit its halfway mark Thursday at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center. Wisconsin amassed 378.5 points to trail only leader Indiana, which had 393.

Not far back are third-place Michigan (363) and fourth-place Minnesota (361).

“We were very good today,” UW coach Whitney Hite said. “We had a really good morning session and backed it up at night.
