The Washington Capitals have completely changed their team identity. After years of play based on finesse and all out offense, the Washington Capitals hired Barry Trotz as their head coach this offseason, and adopted his physical and defensive minded style of play.
The Capitals went up against the New York Islanders in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
