Connor Hellebuyck big in USA’s win over Finland at IIHF Worlds

Former UMass Lowell River Hawks standout goaltender and current member of the Winnipeg Jets organization Connor Hellebuyck came up big as the U.S. National Team defeated Finland in their first game of the 2015 IIHF World Championships.

Hellebuyck made his international competition debut on Friday for Team USA. He suited up for the U.S. during the 2014 IIHF World Championships, but played backseat to former Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas.

The 21-year-old stopped 29-of-30 shots fired at him by Finland on Team USA’s way to a 5-1 win.
