EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The No. 48 ranked women's tennis team swept Evansville 7-0 today at the Tri-State Athletic Club. The win marks WSU's 82nd consecutive Missouri Valley Conference victory.
Wichita State (9-7, 3-0 MVC) captured the doubles point with Giulia Guidetti/Marta Bellucco handling Daria Pentsova/Andjela Brguljan 6-1 in the third flight. Fatima Bizhukova/Gabriela Porubin topped Chieko Yamada/Theodora Soldatou 6-4 in the top flight to clinch the point. In the second flight, Diana Tkachenko/Nicoli Pereira defeated Tanaporn Thongsing/Ting-Ya Hsu 5-3 after the point had already been decided.
