Shockers Drop Two Games at Southern Illinois

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Wichita State offense could not find timely hits, as they dropped two games to Southern Illinois on Sunday, by scores of 3-2 and 5-4.

Katie Malone started game one, and threw 3.1 innings allowing three runs on four hits to receive her 10th loss of the year. Jenni Brooks threw the final 2.2 innings and allowed only one hit.

In the second inning, Merri Ann Patterson broke open the scoring with a solo home run to right-center.

In the fourth inning, Patterson hit her second home run of the day to make the score 2-0.
