SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Wichita State scored two runs in the top of the 10th to beat Southern Illinois 3-1 in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Willie Schwanke went 4-for-5 with an RBI, a home run and a triple, while Luke Ritter went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Jordan Boyer went 2-for-3 with two doubles.
Starter Zach Lewis went 6.2 innings and gave up one run on two hits with no walks and eight strikeouts.
Willie Schwanke's solo home run got the Shockers on the board in the top of the second.
