WICHITA, Kan. – Yannik Emmert has been named as the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week following his fourth place individual finish at the Herb Wimberly Invitational on Oct. 18.
The sophomore from Buchholz, Germany, carded 71-70-67 through the three day tournament in New Mexico to finish with 208, 5-under par and in fourth place.
This is Emmert's first Valley Golfer of the Week award as a Shocker and has been in impressive form for the Shockers this fall with two top-five finishes in five fall competitions.
Emmert and the Shocker men's golf team are now looking to the spring season as they look to recapture the MVC title after narrowly missing out on making it nine titles in 10 years.
