Golf Sits Fifth After Second Round at MAC Championship

SILVER LAKE, Ohio – The Western Michigan golf team suffered a setback in round two of the Mid-American Conference Championships, but remain in the top five heading into the final round on Sunday at Silver Lake Country Club.

The Broncos combined to shoot 310 on the day but slipped back to fifth place, sitting just two shots behind Akron in fourth place at 619 (309-310). Northern Illinois and Ohio are tied for second at 606, while host Kent State holds a commanding lead at 587.

"Round two didn't produce as many birdies as we needed today," said head coach Elise Swartout-Mosher.
