Bronco Offense Held in Check in the Series Opener

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan baseball team's offense was held in check in the series opener against rival Eastern Michigan, as the Eagles came away with a 6-2 win over the Broncos Friday afternoon at Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field.

WMU's potent offense, which entered this weekend ranked No. 30 in the nation in batting average, finished with five hits against the Eagle pitching staff. The Broncos pushed one run across in each the fifth and sixth innings.

Eastern Michigan jumped out to an early 2-0 lead off a two-run home run and never lost the lead.
