Wells 1 of 4 to be inducted into WKU Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday

The guard from the tiny Todd County town of Guthrie was in the visiting locker room Nov. 18, 2000 as the Hilltoppers were set to face Evansville in their season opener.

“That was my first game and I was in the locker room messing with Derek Robinson and Tremain Rowles and Chris Marcus and them,” Wells told the Daily News on Wednesday. “I kept looking at my jersey and pointing and smiling real big.

“I never expected from where I came from, going to college and having the success that I did.”

Wells and WKU beat the Aces that night 61-59.
