Looking to get off on the right foot after a tremendous 2016 season, the WKU volleyball team dropped its exhibition game to 15th-ranked Kentucky in five sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-14, 25-18, 15-9) on Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington.

Despite the loss, WKU head coach Travis Hudson stressed the importance of the game and why the result turned out as it did.

“I think Kentucky is poised for a tremendous season,” said Hudson in a postgame press release. “They have all of the pieces necessary to deserve their top 15 ranking. These exhibitions are very beneficial for both teams, and we look forward to having Kentucky make the return trip to Bowling Green in 2016.
