Western Kentucky's women’s tennis program was named an ITA All-Academic Team on Tuesday, and five Lady Toppers earned ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards.
The team award is open to any ITA program with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year, which includes the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters.
The Lady Toppers earned the team award with a 3.66 cumulative team GPA on the heels of their second consecutive perfect Annual Progress Report score.
Individually, Andreanna Christopolou, Lisa Freiss, Elpida Malamou, Cindy Oest and Violetta Shatalova all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete awards for maintaining a grade point average of 3.
