Former WKU guard Parris heading to Trinity Valley CC

Former Western Kentucky guard Damari Parris is transferring to Trinity Valley Community College, his father Haslyn Parris announced Sunday on Twitter.

Parris will be a sophomore at Trinity Valley, a junior college in Athens, Texas. After playing the 2017-18 for the Cardinals, he'll have two years of eligibility left to use for an NCAA program.

Parris played one season at WKU. His scholarship wasn't renewed this summer by coach Rick Stansbury, Parris' father told the Daily News earlier this month.

Parris came to WKU from Evelyn Mack Academy in Charlotte, N.C., where he averaged 25 points and six rebounds in 2015-16.
