MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University golf alum Chris Williams was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar and the Mountaineers were named a 2017 All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America in July.
Williams was one of 260 Division I players to be named an All-America scholar for the 2016-17 season. To be eligible for the award, golfers must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team’s competitive rounds and finish with a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I.
