Mountaineers Climb to the Top of the Big 12

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Daxter Miles Jr. scored 20 points and Jaysean Paige contributed 17 points off the bench to give 14th-ranked West Virginia an 80-69 victory over 15th-ranked Baylor on Saturday night at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Tonight’s victory now gives the Mountaineers (19-4, 8-2) sole possession of first place in the No. 1 basketball conference in the country after top-ranked Oklahoma fell at Kansas State earlier today.

“It’s good to have 19 wins at this stage in the season and it’s even better to be 8-2 in the best conference in America,” said West Virginia coach Bob Huggins.
