Scarred Adrian hopes to regain touch after wrist rehab

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Sporting a prominent incision scar on his right wrist, Nathan Adrian didn’t practice Tuesday and he won’t be playing next month when West Virginia visits the Bahamas for three exhibition games.

The junior forward, who played all last season with tendon damage that severely affected his shooting, reluctantly underwent summer surgery after injections failed to lessen the pain. He expects to be cleared for contact when typical preseason practices resume in October.

Adrian currently is focusing on conditioning and said “I’ve got a hard brace so I can lift (weights) a little.
