Smallwood grew up a stones throw away from Philadephia in Wilmington, Del. So, he grew up a big fan of the green and white. At 153 overall, Smallwood went to the Eagles midway through the fifth round.
Obviously, he couldn’t be happier with the selection.
“It feels great to be here,” Smallwood said at his introductory press conference. “I’ve obviously been an Eagles fan all my life. I’ve been watching since I was young. It’s just a dream come true being at this place. It’s a blessing.”
Smallwood said he had been in close contact with the team and even visited the Eagles’ team headquarters in recent months.
