MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Devin Williams, passed over in Thursday night’s NBA draft, reached a free-agent deal with the Milwaukee Bucks and is expected to join the squad in the Las Vegas summer league.
The 6-foot-9 power forward led the Big 12 with 9.5 rebounds per game as a junior, scored 13.3 points to earn all-league honors and would have been the centerpiece for West Virginia next season.
After indicating several times his intention to return to school as a senior, Williams changed course following an NCAA tournament first-round loss to Stephen F. Austin. He subsequently signed with an agent in April but was not invited to the NBA combine.
