Liverpool 2-1 West Bromwich Albion: Reds edge past Baggies to move into second place

Liverpool moved up to second in the Premier League after a narrow win over West Brom at Anfield.

The Reds missed the chance to move top on goal difference after Gareth McAuley’s late strike restored Arsenal to their temporary position as league leaders.

First half goals from Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho gave the Reds a commanding lead, and the home side didn’t look back, as they secured their fifth league win in their last six games.

Jurgen Klopp’s side opened the scoring with twenty minutes played after a wonderful team move was finished off by Mane.
