West Bromwich Albion have turned down a £10million bid from Leicester City for Jonny Evans.
It is believed the move materialised before Hull accepted a deal worth £17m for Harry Maguire.
Leicester held an interest in Evans when the defender made his transfer from Manchester United to the Hawthorns in 2015 but the club have been told by West Brom that the 29-year-old is not for sale.
Craig Shakespeare has prioritised strengthening defence this summer window and may even try to bring in another centre back after capturing Maguire in an impressive deal.
