On Wednesday, John Wall officially signed his 4-year, $170 million contract extension with the Washington Wizards. There was never any doubt in my mind that he would sign. The only uncertainty was whether he would sign now, or take a chance and sign next summer, where he would be eligible for an additional $50 million, if he waited.
And one must admit that Wizards’ owner did an excellent job with the re-signings this offseason. He kept his word, and there was no drama.
With Wall’s signing, and as I recently wrote concerning Otto Porter’s max, the band is officially back together.
